With all the hype surrounding the Law of Attraction today and how popular it has become, you might be wondering whether it is able to help you quit smoking. Some of you who are reading this might not be smokers, but I feel that it is still important for you to read through this and learn how to make use of the Law of Attraction to kick other types of addictions besides smoking.
First of all we need to understand the power of our own thoughts. Although it is probably not possible to lie on the bed and thinking about something and expect it to happen in an instant, your thoughts are still the main driving force behind influence the actions you would take. There is a part of your brain that filters through all the different types of information you experience in your lives, and only allow those relevant to your survival to enter your mind.
But you might ask how does this actually do with helping you to quit addictive behaviors such as smoking? Just ponder over this for a second: If you always think to yourself "I have or need to quit smoking... but how am I going to do so?" You are actually causing more harm in the process as you are constantly telling your brain that you are still smoking from the words "How can I quit smoking?"
Thus instead, you should learn how to get your thoughts working for you instead of harming you more in the process or in the long run. What you need to do is to constantly feed your minds with thoughts that will help your brain filter out all the different experiences in your life, until a point where you would not even feel like smoking when someone is smoking in front of you.
Start focusing your thoughts away from smoking (or any forms of addictions) but instead focus your thoughts towards something that can serve the same need as the substance or smoking but in a healthy manner, and you will find that the power of the addiction will slowly fade over time.
The best and most effective way to do this is actually to make a list of things that you want to do with your life which smoking or any other forms of addiction might prevent you from doing, such as running in a marathon, getting into shape, or even getting a girlfriend who doesn't smoke. As you start to slowly plant these ideas in your mind over time, that particular part of your brain will start to work and filter out thoughts that are inconsistent with the goals you have set for yourself, and you will find that you will be able to quit your smoking addiction in little or no time at all.
