I've Heard That Thoughts Are Things - Is This Correct? How Do I Harness This Principle?

I am well aware that many people are surprised to hear that thoughts are things. However, it is very important to realise that they are in fact things, and like a special possession, need to be guarded and treasured. To better understand this point, it is probably best to explain the method of operation of the brain. Whilst this may sound a little clinical, the fact is that the brain is transmitting waves throughout itself, which are instructions or thoughts. Some are conscious and deliberate, like deciding to read, or say something, but there are also the automatic functions like heart control, breathing, and other body instructions. Then, there are the subconscious beliefs or as I like to say, the way we really think. By this, I mean that we may sometimes say one thing, but deep within ourselves, be feeling something else. This is an important point to understand and we need to recognize that it is imperative to control our true thoughts as they can massively influence our results, and those of others around us.
When we think, apart from instructing other parts of our bodies to do something, we are also sending electric waves that are not that much different from radio transmission waves. Have you ever thought about the machines that are used to record brain wave activity? They work by attaching electrodes around the brain, and the sensors picking up electrical activity in the brain. In a similar manner, our brain waves are also sending signals outwards and this is part of the way extra sensory perception works. Our bodies can in fact pick up other people's brain waves around us, when we are trained to pick the signals up. Again, it is like a radio receiver. There may be a number of stations in your area, but your radio will only be tuned to one station at a time. Hence, the pick up makes sense, rather than a jumbled mess.
The point I am wanting to make here is that others can pick up our thoughts, not necessarily as one particular item, but rather in general terms. Hence, if we are positive in our expectation, we are more likely to receive the result of our desires. We still need to work towards our goals, but you will find, on reflection, that your desires materialize more quickly when you have the right attitude and expectation. It can still take time, but with further reading, and your own experience, you will be able to prove this point to be true.
I have also found that by practicing thoughts of forgiveness, and releasing tension and worry, I am able to be much more effective in my dealings with others. Again, I attribute this to the way we project our thoughts outwards. I understand this can seem quite controversial, but equally, I assure you, based on my experience and others I have read about, that it works. You can only gain from this principle, by understanding and then applying it.
