The law of Attraction has become recently popularized in the hit movie "The Secret" produced by Rhonda Byrne. In the movie, the various teachers talk about how they have used the law of attraction to create miracles in their lives. This movie has exposed millions of people to the idea that we can attract into our lives the healing, and conditions that we most want.
The importance of this law can not be denied, but it is not the only law.
There are many laws that affect our ability to heal and to manifest what we want to enter our lives. Sometimes we become very good at manifesting in one area, and hit a brick wall in another area of our lives that needs to prosper.
What gives?
Why does it work for some people some of the time, and not at all for others?
According to Joe Vitale, from the hit movie "The Secret", many of us are simultaneously desiring the opposite of what we say that we want. Sure, we say that we want money, but we may also simultaneously believe that money is the root of all evil. We may have been taught as a child that people with money must have taken advantage of people. We may even fear that if we make a ton of money then our friends will be jealous of us, or we will have to pay a lot more taxes. Until we acknowledge these contradictory forces in our minds, we will never make any real progress towards achieving our stated goal.
I can relate directly to this idea of opposing desires. I have owned and operated my own business for nearly twenty five years. I go through periods of expansion and contraction, but it just seems to stay at the same level. Every time it seems that something is about to fall into place that will allow me to gain new customers and business, it falls away.
After some good honest soul searching, I had to admit that what I really wanted to do was to write about personal development and the spiritual awakening that is taking place on our planet.
Although my business paid the bills, it was not my passion. Is it any wonder that new customers did not approach? It was as if I had a sign on my forehead that said "GO AWAY!"
These contradictions must be cleared before any real progress is going to be made.
It is important that you are sure about what it is that you say that you want. Once you are clear on this, then you can move into the process more fully knowing that you are not blocking your good from coming into your life.
The Steps To Using The Law of Attraction
It is important to create the feelings of love and gratitude within you.
Most of the world's great religions teach the importance of gratitude as part of the method of prayer. Generating the rich feeling tones of authentic gratitude is truly trans-formative. It presupposes that your good is a forgone conclusion. This is a powerful and important part of the manifestation process.
This calls for a certain degree of active imagination. We must become aware of our inner voice and align it in consistent support of the realization that our goal is already a reality. We must emerge ourselves in the feeling that comes with the wish fulfilled.
The imaginings must be more than merely mental. They must create a feeling tone within the body that affirms the certainty of the desired outcome made manifest.
Once way of anchoring these new feeling states into your body is to take the actions that you would be taking right now if it really was a reality right now. This is called an act of faith, or what I like to call "acting on the presupposition."
After all, you KNOW that your wish is already fulfilled, right? And if you truly are "acting as if" then you need to emerge yourself in that appreciative person right now. Walk, talk, act in accordance with your appreciation of having already received.
It has been said that an attitude of gratitude is the quickest path to increasing abundance in all areas of your life.
If you are truly feeling grateful, then you must fully believe it to be true.
As Wayne Dyer's so eloquently said "You'll see it when you believe it."
