Gratitude - 3 Action Steps to a Life of Gratitude

Knowing about gratitude is great. But applying the knowledge is paramount. It is in the application that causes the perfection of a new skill. That also includes the mastering of any mental habits. Let's look at some action steps you can take today for your particular situation. Take out your pen and paper and do the exercise.
Action Step #1 - What can I be grateful for today?
You may find that you start off with just one thing and then it begins to expand. Keep going. Don't hesitate to get more paper if you run out of space. That's a very good sign. Don't sweat it though if you only have a few to start with. That's okay too. According to the law of thinking, the more you think about something the more thoughts you attract along the lines of what you're thinking about. So keep at it as more things will come to you.
Action Step #2 - What troublesome situation are you facing?
Look at the troublesome situation right now and ask,
1) What's the good in this?
Many times we become bogged down by the negative impact of our adverse conditions that we neglect to see the good that could come out of it. And the more we focus on how bad the situation is our perception becomes more and more blurred by the cloud of negativity. Consciously decide to look for the good and good will present itself. Write down only the positive you see. Keep digging deeper and you will see more positive gems emerging to your mind.
2) What can I be thankful for?
If you are unable to find something in the current situation you're facing to be thankful for, think of something else in other areas of your life that you can express gratitude for right now. This step will set your mind and your energy in a different frequency so you begin to feel more elevated emotionally. In this positive vibration, you'll find the emotional cloud of your adversity begin to disperse in your mind and now you'll be able to see more clearly as the sun of hope starts to penetrate in your life bringing clearer vision.
Action Step #3 - Be thankful all day
Focus on one or more things that you can be thankful for all day today and continue to express your gratitude. You may say something like, "I may not have my dream car right now, but I am thankful that I can still get to my destination and remain warm in the car that I have now. All is well." You'll feel hope and expectation arising from within you and as you continue throughout your day inspired ideas and direction will come to you.
Changing your life may seem like an overwhelming frustrating process. But it doesn't have to be if you're given simple doable step-by-step strategies that will get you from where you are to where you want to be and experience a transformed life.
