It couldn't be more obvious that we are experiencing a stagnant global economy and many believe tragic times are on the horizon. There are millions of unemployed Americans along with millions worldwide that live in poverty. As a result, people instinctively want to hang on to any extra money they may have and I certainly can't blame them. It goes without saying that if you don't know where your next meal will come from you certainly don't want to give away your last piece of bread. Unfortunately, it is this behavior of clinging to every last dime that hinders the ability to attract the very thing people desire most, which is more money. It has been said that money doesn't buy happiness; I say money doesn't buy happiness for those who don't understand the harmonious relationship between wealth and peace of mind.
Most of you reading this probably have heard of famous billionaires like Warren Buffet and Bill Gates. Do you think they got where they are today by stockpiling every nickel and dime they earned until they amassed their billions? On the contrary, they realized the importance of letting the flow of money work in harmony within their lives. They understood the concept of spending money to make money as well as wise investing. Whether these men were consciously aware, they figured out a long time ago that money came to them easily and frequently when they willingly allowed it to flow away from them as well. Confused? Think of money like a beautiful flowing river, and all its tributaries helping to fertilize the lush landscape which in turn is supporting the abundance of wildlife. Imagine yourself floating in a boat, your mind in awe at the power of the current, yet you feel peace and harmony with the immense flow. Money is like that river; it can be rather intimidating causing people to believe it brings nothing but tribulation. On the other hand, when people are careless and don't respect its power it can ruin their lives. Concerning money, when you learn to go with the flow rather than trying to stop the current (hoarding your money) you will find that the flow of money will carry you as far as you want it to.
When I first started applying the principles of the law of attraction in my life giving money was one of the hardest concepts for me to understand. I frequently thought to myself, "Why would I give away the very thing I'm trying to attract?" However, I wanted to give the LOA a fair chance to work so I decided to start giving what I could. And it is important to remember that it is the intent of the gift not the gift itself or the recipient that matters. Let me explain.
Like many of you I didn't have thousands, hundreds or even twenty dollars to give so I decided I would give what little I could spare to the homeless. Any day that I would drive downtown I would make a conscious effort to pick out a homeless person to give some spare change to. Regrettably, what I found myself doing was questioning each individual I saw and making a flash judgment based on their appearance and demeanor. I would say things like, "that guy is just going to use this change to go buy booze," or "that one looks capable of working," or "I bet she is a drug addict, I'm doing her a favor by not supporting her addiction." Ultimately what I was doing was trying to find an excuse for not giving. I thought I was questioning these people's intentions when actually it was my intentions that should have been scrutinized. What I learned was that my act of giving wasn't in harmony with my aspiration of attracting wealth into my life. After I came to that realization I no longer concerned myself with what these people would to do with the money I gave them. Their intent was out of my hands, what they did with my gift was their choice. Simply put, it was the mere act of giving and the intention to let money flow away from me as easily as it came to me that brought me peace.
The desire for money is felt the world around. Many people can spend a lifetime trying to accumulate wealth with no avail, while others seem to attract it like they were money magnets. This discrepancy is caused by the imbalance of the "money rivers" flowing throughout the world. I believe the acquisition of and the letting go of (Yin Yang) money should be in balance for true happiness and wealth to co-exist together. Like the river previously mentioned, what happens if a damn is constructed? There is a great accumulation upstream; however, life downstream doesn't fare too well. The natural balance of the system gets disturbed so where there was once abundance now there is despair. When greed prospers the flow of money is restricted and those downstream pay a heavy price. It has been said that 1% of the world owns 95% of the wealth. Doesn't seem quite fair does it?
It is my desire that all those who accumulate wealth by using the law of attraction will remember where they came from and keep in mind those still struggling with poverty. However, you don't have to wait for your riches, why not start right now. I'm not suggesting that you go and donate your last $100 to charity, but if you want to witness the power of the law of attraction consider changing your attitude towards money. Giving freely with an open heart sends a signal out to the universe that you feel wealthy because you give freely. And what have we learned about the law of attraction? Like attracts like, so the feeling of wealth will attract back to you more wealth. Seek monetary peace and harmony in your life by keeping the rivers of abundance flowing and give freely.
