The Forgotten Key to the Law of Attraction - The Mentality of the Masters

A wise philosopher once said that striving is reserved for those who live without grace. Striving, in its conventional form, is a statement to the universe that says: "Some aspect of my life should not be the way it is right now, and I need this and that to happen as a way to make it better." When used in this way striving becomes an obstacle to one of the most effective catalysts of the law of attraction- And that catalyst is the present moment.
When you focus on the present moment you live with appreciation, and appreciation is what makes the law of attraction functional. Many of us get so wrapped up in future goals that we lose track of what we have right here and now. It's so easy to wake up in the morning and intend to manifest a Mercedes only to forget to send gratitude for the beautiful home you live in, or the person that's lying beside you.
After several years of struggling with the law of attraction many people have this epiphany. They say to themselves: "Attracting things in the future is not the point! It is designed to come from a place of joy that takes place NOW, and it won't work until I fully accept and show appreciation for what currently is."
But it doesn't stop there. Before we can really use the law of attraction we must go even further. The second epiphany concerns emotions, and how emotions are the real fuel for the law of attraction. People think: "OK, I have to be happy all the time so that I can attract a happy future. But how can I be happy ALL THE TIME? That just seems so unnatural." It then hits them that there must be something beyond happiness, and even better, something beyond unhappiness. They realize that happiness and suffering are two different sides of the same coin, and each possesses seeds of the yet unmanifested other.
When people come to this point they are one step away from despair, and one step away from realization. They glimpse a truth through the veil of right and wrong, happy and unhappy, good and evil. They experience an essence that goes beyond thought, beyond emotion, and in the opposite direction of everything they struggle for as a means to achieve it- and that essence is peace. Peace, in its purest form, is the single most potent catalyst for the law of attraction. It is what allows masters to turn stones into bread, the sick into the healed and regular people into fully realized beings.
Then comes the final piece to the puzzle- In order to have peace, you must break the ties of compulsive thinking; and in order to gain control of your mind, you must focus your attention on the here and now. Even if you never set another goal, never think, and focus all your attention on the present moment, you're future will be in perfect alignment with your most fervent desires. Why?
Because the universe knows what you want. It knows your soul because it IS your soul, and it doesn't need your conscious intentions to know what will REALLY make you content. The surprising thing is, once you let go of thought and keep your attention on the here and now, those things that you thought you needed for your happiness will come to you with almost no effort at all on your part. This is perhaps the greatest irony about life.
No one ever said that the universe wasn't ironic. It only said that you can have whatever you want, all you have to do is BE it. Peace is your birthright. So stop thinking, bring your attention back to the present moment, and watch those things you used to strive for come into your life without effort. Yes, it really is that simple.
We all have a path and growing is a part of it. So if you're anything like me and you still struggle with being in the now, just be happy that your life still has a purpose. Be kind to yourself and allow for baby steps. Transformation won't come overnight, but with a little effort on a consistent basis, your life will finally align with your deepest dreams and desires.
